On August 9th, 2014; 18 year old Michael Brown was killed when nine shots rang out from Officer Darren Wilson’s weapon. Those shots might accurately be considered “shots heard round the world” as within 24 hrs. the world became interested in Ferguson, Missouri.  News media from across the globe to capture the unrest that followed as protests, riots, and violent clashes with police gripped a small portion of this city. In solidarity, students, activists, and anarchists from around the world made pilgrimage to Ferguson. In the two years that have followed, an unprecedented amount of police related shootings and police shootings have only served to escalate and proliferate the tensions that erupted here. Race and tribe sensitive conflicts around the world have become seedbeds for the germination of either violent cultural revolution ideologies, or a major tipping point for the life and promise of the Gospel to be made manifest. Therefore, this is the context in which God is inviting the Church to engage. This is why we choose to take our place on the Wall in Ferguson.

Inequity demands a Civil Rights movement, but Iniquity demands a Civil Righteousness Movement. We seek to help the Body of Christ manifest the ministry of reconciliation by effectively engaging the Gospel of the Kingdom amidst a protest culture.
